Although summers are colorful and wonderful- summer heat can be the rival of our makeup. Here are some tricks to protect your makeup from melting on sunny days.

1. Exfoliate your skin

Before applying any makeup, prep your skin by exfoliating it with a good face wash, or if you go for some budget-friendly home remedy use gram flour mix with some milk, apply it on your face and leave it for some time till it dries out then scrub it gently and wash your face.

2. Use ice as a skin toner

After exfoliating step, rub some ice cubes gently on your face or dip your face for some time in a bowl full of chilled water. This hack works amazingly in summer and keeps your skin sweatproof and glowy for a long time.

3. Choose an oil-free moisturizer

Before applying makeup apply a small amount of moisturizer on your face and leave it for 5 minutes, so it can be absorbed in the skin and keep your skin hydrating in summers. It’s better to apply water-based moisturizer in summer to keep your skin fresh and oil-free all day on sunny beach days.

4. A layer of a good sun-screen

Sunscreen protects your skin from U.V rays, it is compulsory to apply sunblock right after the moisturizer layer. Sunscreen also provides a barrier between your skin and makeup and protects your skin from chemicals present in makeup. Sunscreen not only protects you from harmful rays but also reduces cancer risks.

5. Apply makeup primer

Primer is a must to use in summers because it provides a smooth surface on your face by covering all open pores and protects your skin from excessive sweating and your makeup stays for a long time.

6. Use less makeup

In summers try to use something with less coverage like a tinted moisturizer or some BB or CC cream to make your skin less sweaty and oil-free. Remember less is more during summer makeup to prevent makeup from creasing and caking. Try to use less or no foundation to reduce sweating.

7. Set makeup with compact or loose powder

After applying any kind of BB or CC cream try to set it with compact or loose powder to keep it last longer.

8. Apply lip tint for a natural look

Try to use lip tint in summer for long-lasting color. Lip tint can also be used as a blush on cheeks and also as an eyeshadow for a natural and lighter look. Try to avoid using lip mattes as they make your lips cracky and dry.

9. A little bronzer for glow

To add some sun-kissed look on your face apply some bronzer on high points of the face. Try to use powdered bronzer for a long-lasting effect.

10. Skip highlighter

Avoid using makeup products that are too shimmery, as the sun heat already makes your skin extra shiny and oily.

11. Use waterproof makeup products

Try to use good waterproof makeup products in summers to keep your skin sweatproof and last your makeup up to 24 hours. Use waterproof mascara, liner, and other waterproof makeup stuff to keep your skin sweatproof in humid weather.

12. Set your makeup with setting spray

After you are done with makeup, set it with a good setting spray to keep it stay for a long time. Keep your eyes close while applying setting spray especially on your T- zone area which sweats a lot. The setting spray keeps your skin dewy and refreshing. If you’re going for a budget-friendly way you can use rose water mix with some glycerine as an alternative to expensive setting sprays to set your makeup and keep it in your bag and spray it when you feel a little sweaty.

13. Keep some cosmetics in your bag

Keep some makeup stuff in your bag when you’re going out, like compact powder to set your BB or CC cream when you feel some oil or sweat on your face, setting spray or rose water to feel refreshing all day, some blotting paper to absorb excess oil from your face.

14. keep yourself hydrated

To keep hydrating your body for a long time drink water as much as you can, keep a water bottle in your bag, and sip water throughout the day. This will indirectly keep your makeup dewy and long-lasting.
